If you are interested in the programs and may possibly use them, please register. This will help me know how to reach you
in case of critical changes to the programs during the encampment season, and will also help me to
improve the programs in the future.
IMPORTANT: Change setting in Access Program
You must have Access 2003 or later installed on your system. (Access 2000 probably still works, but
I have upgraded to 2003 and have not tested the new programs under Access 2000.)
Access generally is installed with a setting that needs to be changed in order for the programs to
function correctly. BEFORE installing the Encampment Management Program, open the Access Program,
load a blank database, and then click the Tools option on the top menu. Go to Edit/Find, and unclick
Action queries. View Access Set Up
Download Instructions
Clicking on the link may prompt you to Open the file or Save it to Disk. If you open it, it should
indicate that it will extract all files into C:\CAPWATCH. If you Save it to Disk, it doesn't matter
where you put it as long as you remember where it is. After saving, you need to click on the saved file.
It will automatically extract all databases and put them in the Directory C:\CAPWATCH. (If you do
not have C:CAPWATCH directory, the extract process should create the directory automatically.)
This file holds the history of prior encampments. This download
will have no data. If you have used the Encampment Management Program in the past, you can keep your
existing history and you do not need to install this one. Just make sure you have History.mdb in
the C:CAPWATCH directory.
To maximize the use of these programs, the CAPWATCH files for your wing should be downloaded and stored in
the C:CAPWATCH directory. This link will take you to the sign on screen for the National Web Site
for Civil Air Patrol. You may need to register and/or get authorization from your wing to do this
download.
If you are not able to get a copy of
CAPWATCH specific to your Wing, you can download this empty database. This will enable the programs
to function correctly, but you will have to manually enter all data that is normally copied automatically
from the National database.
Verify that the following files exist in the directory c:capwatch.
Nottingham (Notting.ttf) and Casque Open Face (Casqueof.ttf) are two fonts that have been used to
create an elegant Certificate of Appreciation and Certificate of Accomplishment. These two fonts are included with the
database. Install the fonts (Control Panel, Fonts, Install). If you do not install the fonts, your
computer should still print these forms with the closest font available.
The programs as installed will not print a signature on Certificates of Accomplishment. If you want this
feature follow the instructions on the "What's New File - User
Defined Signature.
